Restore-It’s Furniture Touch Up Kit may or may not be a good product for you if you’re in the market to repair a nick or ding in your wood furniture.
This Furniture Touch Up Kit comes with multiple color matching markers and multiple color fillers. The three steps to fixing your wood furniture is pretty easy. You find the closest matching maker and fill in the scratch, follow it up with the closest matching filler, then repeat with the marker. After wiping away the excess filler, your furniture should appear repaired.
At the warehouse, there was a nice coffee table that had a couple small dings in it. Having never used this product, I thought it would be the perfect tester to try on. I grabbed the closest matching marker and colored the nick over. It didn’t appear to have made a HUGE difference, but I continued in the process. I used the color filler… which was somewhat like a glorified crayon. I wasn’t impressed with its ability to fill the gap. Determined, I used the color marker and finished the process, only to realize that it didn’t look even CLOSE to being repaired.
I didn’t stop there. I actually continued to repeat this process three more times off camera. Then, no wanting to give up, I asked Jerhad to try it out. He came up with the same conclusion. Either both of us can’t figure this product out, or maybe Restore-It is not the right product for the job.
If I’m being completely honest, I was underwhelmed with this product. I mean, how hard can it be to make something to repair a wood scratch? I didn’t find this to be a fantastic product. I am certain that there are those of you that have used it and LOVE Furniture Touch Up Kit. I would love to hear your opinions on the product. But let’s be honest here, even if it only KINDA works, it still beats replacing or resurfacing your whole piece of furniture. Right?
